The 1898 sights quickly identify the model. I prefer the 1901 Krag with it's very unique rear sight. This rifle has a non-issue rear sight tapped into the Krag's bolt latch release. The fitting of the stock is less than secure. I would place the value in my area at $250 dollars and work down from there.
